Infection Control

Infection control is very important in any health care setting. Infection control procedures and universal precautions protect everyone. It is the cornerstone of a good and safe dental practice. Our staff would be happy to review our infection control procedures with you.

We follow guidelines and procedures recommended by various federal agencies including the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA,) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These measures include:

  • Disinfectant hand soap
  • Gloves and face masks
  • Barrier films
  • Chemical disinfection of counter tops and surfaces
  • Sterilization of all equipment before every use
  • Disposable materials

We sterilize ALL reusable equipment with an autoclave. This device kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat, and pressure. The sterilized instruments and equipment are wrapped in special packaging to keep them sterile until needed. We feel that the more you know about our daily infection control procedures and policies, the more confidant you will feel with our treatments.
