Can you remember the last time you changed your toothbrush? Has it been 3 months? 6 months? A year? More than a year? At Sandia Smiles we believe you should change your toothbrush regularly. A good toothbrush is vital to proper oral hygiene. That’s why we offer free “toothbrush recycling.” When you bring us your old toothbrush we’ll recycle it and give you a brand new one. It’s a simple exchange. No purchase necessary. You don’t even need to be a patient of ours.
You may be asking: Can I really recycle my toothbrush? The answer is both Yes and No. Some plastic in toothbrushes can be “melted down” and turned into other consumer products. Other toothbrushes (most) cannot go through that process. We will identify which brushes we are able to send to a local recycling center and which we will recycle. We have commissioned an artist to use the collected (and sterilized) toothbrushes in creating a custom sculpture which will be displayed in our facility and then auctioned off for charity. We feel it is a fun way to recycle, and also give back to our local community.
